Lauren Christy 'Lauren Christy' 1993 I stumbled on this gorgeous album via a Gary Clarke songwriting search.....Eric, if you haven't heard this it was basically made for you... well produced, gorgeous voice, easy on the eye and kind of reminds me of Louise Goffin, you probably already know her. She also made some dosh writing for Shakira and Avril Lavigne which is great.

Great, I thought it would be up your street in terms of boxes ticked. I have ordered her second album Breed which is apparently very very different, more Alanis/Garbage but still got some good reviews - she is one of those ‘quietly hugely successful in the background’ people mainly due to Avril Lavigne’s debut album which sold gazillions. She’s won Grammy’s and an Ivor Novello! She’s also English which I was surprised at. She co-wrote a few tunes by Britney and Rihanna which must have helped with the bills.

The sound is so absolutely lush (I rarely use that word, but it's the most accurate!). Nice voice too, Colour Of Night sounded familiar from somewhere but the name didn't. Can hear echoes of tons of stuff I like....Louise Goffin, Cyndi, even Blue Nile...just tons of those early 90s beautifully-produced records.

My copy just arrived from the States....I wasn't sure it would play as the edges of the surface have rotted away a bit, but it ripped fine!
Will hopefully put the CD on later for proper listening.
