I haven't bought ANY of these. I wanted to, but once the first big box one sold out before I could buy it, I decided not to get the rest.

I passed on the big box versions of Humans Lib and Dream Into Action. In fact, I passed on the smaller 2CD/1DVD editions too. Just not enough there to warrant £25. But I got One To One and Cross That Line, as I don't have so much music from those eras.

I was thinking I would love a proper compilation of the ladies of Heavenly & Creation records (and similar acts)..... Saint Etienne/Idha/Beth Orton/Espiritu/Dot Allison etc. I have plenty of playlists but I would buy a properly done compilation of that period from the nineties.

Army Of Lovers reissues announced today, on Alexander Bard's (boo! hiss!) 60th birthday no less. A few catches...
They're on a Russian label, Maschina Records, and are vinyl only... but I'm hoping, given the label put out a superb pre-AOL Barbie reissue on 2CD not too long ago, that expanded CDs will follow in due course. Details here; maschinarecords.com/Preorder-c40052004

I LOVE Army Of Lovers! Don't need any 'vinyls' though thank God! Alexander has fallen majorly out of favour hasn't he due to racist comments online I think? Gravitonas were great as well, Religious was my most played song of that year, I wish they had released a compilation on CD.
And of course early Alcazar and the mighty B.W.O....I think I kept cdon.com afloat during their career, all those CD singles....

A bit 'out there' ("feminine free form jazz and funk"), but Annette Peacock's two 1978-79 Aura Records albums are finally getting a new CD reissue (and coloured vinyl, of course), via the Sundazed label. They've long been OOP expensive discs - whether it's the 1990s UK pressings or the later Japan ones. Not on Amazon UK yet, but due out May. 1 minute samples of every track on each album are on the website;
sundazed.com/annette-peacock-the-perfect-release-cd.aspx
'The Perfect Release' is the better of the two, but 'X-Dreams' has it's moments. Like a more jazzy Joni Mitchell, would be a lazy but helpful comparison.

It's a crying shame Rhino/Warners stopped physical editions of their album collections.. Watched the "classic album" doc on No Secrets last night (finally!) and it's set me off on one of my regular Carly binges. Also made a start (finally!) on her memoir, Boys In The Trees. She's a wonderfully engaging writer. This and the Chic set would be ones I'd love to buy. Yeah, I have the CDs already, but I'm a sucker for having them in this style. Especially when they used to be about £30 in stores.

Yes those Classic Albums collections are great. I'm still slightly flabbergasted that it is the only way to get certain Emmylou Harris albums on CD. Surely someone of her stature deserved better but at least we have them now.

Sting "Duets" was released yesterday (19th March) - only found out because I was buying the new Lana exclusive from HMV's website.
Think I probably have most of the songs dotted around various albums, CD singles and comps, but it's a nice way to have them all collected. Though I'm fearing the worst with the new version of We'll Be Together he's done with Annie Lennox. Amazing she found time to come off her soapbox.

The Level 42 set looks to be delayed, or maybe amazon are having distribution issues. It's a Universal release, just like TFF. I ordered it anyway, don't fancy taking a risk with Cherry Red (or anyone else) direct. It normally doesn't end well.
HoJo In The Running definitely looks to be April 30th now.
