On the month of it's 25th (yes 25th) anniversary, we present a deluxe of Be Here Now. Don't thank me all at once. This matches the SDEs I created for Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. QoBuz, a high-quality download site, basically make this irresistible to me by selling the 3CD versions at about £4 each. So all I need to do is add the original CD as the first disc in the set, and Noel's your brother. The sleeve uses an alternate "night shot" of the swimming pool scene.

New blog content alert! Some projects spend ages in limbo, some take a long time to put together even if I work hard at it. Others, like this one, come together quite quickly. Helps that it's just a 2-disc affair.

I have a dream... Having done Brothers in Arms and No Jacket required, what else could be next other than Sting's 1985 effort. Fairly simple, this one, although some of the tracks aren't easy to track down. Not big on making all his B-sides and remixes easily available, is our Gordon. For various reasons I never finished this, but now I am back onto it! The third disc is more thorough....15 tracks. 01 SPREAD A LITTLE HAPPINESS 02 ONLY YOU 03 I BURN FOR YOU 04 BALLAD OF MACK THE KNIFE 05 ANOTHER DAY 06 ROXANNE LIVE AID, JULY 1985 07 DRIVEN TO TEARS LIVE AID, JULY 1985 08 MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE LIVE AID, JULY 1985 09 EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE LIVE AID, JULY 1985 10 CONSIDER ME GONE LIVE 11 IF YOU LOVE SOMEBODY (SET THEM FREE) JELLYBEAN DANCE MIX 12 LOVE IS THE SEVENTH WAVE NEW MIX 13 FORTRESS AROUND YOUR HEART HUGH PADGHAM REMIX 14 STRANGE FRUIT 15 GABRIEL'S MESSAGE The big Live Aid digital reissue (with more tracks) has meant I'm including all Sting's performances on the day (that weren't backing Phil Collins). We've got the B-sides for Spread A Little Happiness, If You Love Somebody and Seventh Wave. And I have chosen just one remix each of the singles.

I have a question about Disc Three of this Deluxe Edition. Where did find find all of these tracks? Track 1 is from a mini EP that was part of an "A&M Compact Disc" range in (I think) the late 80s or early 90s. Either or both of tracks 2 and 3 are from the Brimstone & Treacle OST (and possibly one is also on Message In A Box). Tracks 4 and 5 are pretty good vinyl rips from the singles. Tracks 6 to 9 are from the expanded Live Aid digital download. Tracks 10 to 13 are from various CD-singles over the years, I think. Love Is The Seventh Wave may be another vinyl rip. Strange Fruit is from a various artists compilation that's so obscure I forget what it is. Gabriel's Message was originally on the first Special Olympics Christmas CD in 1987, but is also on Sting's On A Winter's Night album (not sure if the latter is remixed/recorded in any way). The Sting deluxes are always among the most difficult to piece together - come on Gordon, stop being a pretentious whatsit and get your back catalogue properly sorted out!

Thanks for your answer. Maybe we will get a deluxe version of this album in 2025 for it's 40th anniversary.

No worries! To think it's a year since I completed that set.
I've not been as busy on the homemade fantasy deluxe front this summer, for one reason or another, but quite a few are starting to take shape. I've also made a conscious effort to finish any projects that have been hanging around for a while.
So, my 4CD of Sisters Of Mercy's Vision Thing is done at last. As is a 3CD of Kaleidoscope World by Swing Out Sister. The last of three New Order mega deluxes is also underway - I did Movement and Power Corruption & Lies, so just Low Life to cover before I wait for the official Brotherhood to appear, and see what unreleased material might be contained on that, before I make my own.
