It's track 16 on the CD I have, it’s the 4.23 version, maybe my version is a reissue of ‘Gabrielle’, it’s got Walk On By on there as well. I think it’s her best album. I am a fairweather fan to be honest, I do find the songs a bit bland a lot of the time despite her gorgeous voice but the Frankie Knuckles remix of Sunshine gets a lot of play in these parts. The 16 tracker is a reissue from a year later, judging from discogs/ebay. The original is 14 tracks, with the Horn mix the final track on both versions. Definitely going to get it.

Yes. I picked up the version that includes If You Ever and Walk On By, which seems to be quite difficult to find.
I've been building up to digitizing Gabrielle's entire output, which I thankfully have been collecting for years, so I think I have everything... but wasn't aware of this version? It seems to be German and there are copies on Discogs from UK sellers, starting at 40p, so not difficult to find. My own copy of 'Gabrielle' is the limited 2CD version, which has a bonus disc of 3 acoustic versions, which is nice... and rarer, I'd say!
There's a remix of 'If You Ever' that was on the cassette single only here, but I recently discovered there's a Euro 2 track CD that features it. I want that, but begrudge paying £7+ postage for a copy!
OK not difficult to find then.. I think I got the impression that it wasn't widely available because I was looking for it on Ebay and most of the versions on there didn't have those 2 tracks on it.

She's onto a 3rd version soon! I bought the 2nd edition with the bonus disc of mixes I'll never listen to.

It's such a con, isn't it. I didn't pay any extra for the bonus edition, both were 4.99 in the HMV sale so I thought I might as well get the one with the most music on it. Music that I'll probably never play!

Music that I'll probably never play! Dua Lipa is well known for this. Apparently she did the same with her last album. You’re probably better off with the original. 11 songs. No real filler. Shame about the ugly cardboard sleeve, though.

I finally got my copy of Tom Petty's Wildflowers & All The Rest - the 5CD version that sold out last year. Arrived Saturday. It became available again on the official store last month and thankfully there were no customs charges. It's a brilliant reissue. Each CD is like a different journey to the same place. I bought the double LP in 1994 so have always been used to listening to it as four separate sides of 4-4-4-3. Is taking a while to get used to the CD but the flow is there.

Need to get around to my 4CD edition of that...they're issuing the 5th disc as a standalone this year, so I'll get that. But Wildflowers came out at a tricky time for me and I never really got into it in the way I'd done with Full Moon Fever and Into The Great Wide Open. Strange how it goes sometimes. Maybe it was too soon after the Greatest Hits for me. Timing can be everything.

I'll try and participate in this thread but there's always something on so I'll stick to oddities and standouts! The last week I've consumed...
Secession - A Dark Enchantment (finally got a copy of the 1987 CD!) Various - Dangerous Dancing (1994 PWL compilation of Eurodance/house) Junkster - Junkster (1998 female fronted alternative rock/trip hop from Ireland) P'etra - Shellfire (1997 Dutch female trip hop album - really good!) Lewis Taylor - Lewis Taylor (seems to be getting a vinyl reissue so was on my mind) Alisa Randolph - Alisa Randolph (1990 solo album from one of Madame X) Imagination - Closer (1987 final album from original line-up - Arthur Baker and Nick Martinelli produce) Linda Smith - Till Another Time 1988-96 (new compilation of lo-fi, indie bedroom stuff previously on cassette only)
...throw in a load of modern pop (Zara Larsson, Roosevelt, everything on the Italians Do It Better label, etc.) and you may as well have had a glass up to the wall from next door.

My head is in 1990, with The Beloved Happiness and Deee-lite's World Clique deluxes.
