Lana's Chemtrails is the second new release I've bought this year (after times by SG Lewis) ... have played it a few times and really enjoying it. I thought her online ranting from last year might have put me off her as I found it annoying and unnecessary but I liked this album after the first play. I loved NFR.

I've got this album on the way. I try to just focus on the music, couldn't really care less about the other stuff. If I thought too much about what all my favourite artists think or do, I'd have no collection left!

Did you order the HMV edition with the better cover? Compact dic made me order it!
It's also rumoured/hinted she'll release another album Rock Candy Sweet in June ... we'll see.

Did you order the HMV edition with the better cover? I did indeed. I'll buy any old LDR stuff. The HMV exclusive is much nicer.

EG's Now 19.5 CD1 and remembering the summer of 1991 and the joyous Monsters & Angels + Twist & Sbout pairing. So long ago now...... Summer 1991 takes me back to a briefly less-horrendous passage of my nightmare wildnerness years. Lots of sunshine, sitting on Richmond Green, having been to HMV and Our Price to stock up on the latest CDs. I should listen to this period of music a lot more, because it's great.

This came in post today. Canadian compilation series - Made In Canada: Our Rock'n'Roll History. Sealed copy; lain in storage since 1991. I have seen the individual volumes before but never in one set.

Nice! Have to admit I only recognise half a dozen of those artists by name.

That's five more than me. The melancholic Seasons In The Sun was a childhood favourite of mine.

It's a Mylène Farmer day today, am playing her entire discography on random play. I have seen all her concerts in Paris (and two in Brussels and Nantes) since 2006 and everybody else just pales in comparison now when it comes to a concert experience so much so that I can't really be bothered seeing anybody else live. I saw her last for her 2019 show which ran in Paris for 9 nights. It was probably her at her most dramatic and electronic but she somehow manages to keep it understated despite the massive production. I was basically mesmerised from start to finish and the whole dark futuristic bleak Bladerunner aesthetic really worked well. It was rumoured at the time that she wouldn't be touring again, I hope this is not true. This promo video for M'effondre (a Moby co-write) from Bleu Noir gives a good idea of the experience. I was right under her when she descended in that massive circle thing for the intro ..... a definite moment! youtu.be/9-T-bbiFn_U

Mylene Farmer is amazing. I've almost got her whole discography...just the latest one (or two) still needed.

In my inner world of pop Mylène Farmer is the last great pop superstar. She has no official social media platform which I love. She still has huge popularity with the masses in France and she has managed to keep a certain darkness in her work that she had from the outset. Her concerts are like religious experiences, I am not joking .... I have seen all the great women of pop and Madonna came close with the Reinvention and Confessions tours but she is just as Eric says ..... amazing. I watched the recent official documentary L'ultime Creation which was around two and a half hours long and all in French and I was just transfixed the whole way through (Trailer below ..... also someone has put the three episodes on YouTube, they probably won't be there for long) I'll stop banging on now! youtu.be/oNfkhKOpBOg

Any Mylène love-in that I have is always followed by a Moby love-in as they have worked together a fair bit (he produced half of Bleu Noir) ..... His Roxy Music cover from last year was great and I find myself warming to his later albums once I give them a chance. youtu.be/UbsPrMEzfWM
