I know you agree with me that it was a shame they never followed up on the NOW Dance from 1985. Just the one volume, until resurrecting the brand in the 90s.

Follwing my "inbetweener" NOWs for 2.5, 4.5, 6.5 and 9.5, I reckon one to cover the gap from 17 to 18 is due. Especially with the TOTP reruns currently showing this period. I'll have a think...

Well, it's proved tougher than I expected, since Monster Hits 2 (aka Snap It Up) took at least half a dozen of the best tracks from between late April and mid-August 1990 that I had pencilled in. But I managed to get 30 songs not on any of the comps that year (Now 17, Now 18, Monster Hits 2), and now (.....) it's just a matter of putting them in a suitable configuration. I'm nearly there.

Thanks nlgbbbblth - I'm lacking a few edits of the above songs, or some I only have in extended form on NOW Dance 90 sets (Maureen, Beats International).

Slight delay as the tracklistings for CD2 are to be switched around. What would be "Record 2 Side 1" and "Record 2 Side 2" flow better in the opposite order I've originally sequenced them. Feels right to have evil Geldof cackling away as the fade out to the whole thing, much as I wanted it to be followed by Better The Devil You Know...

Love the CD1 sequencing. Papa Was followed by I'm Free.
As it's 15 rather than 16 tracks, am wondering where is the side break? Is it after I'm Free?

I've nominally made it for after Beats International, but as some of those tracks are in longer form the running time is currently split 35/30 mins between them. The whole thing will be 30 songs, but I did end up finding 31 or 32. A couple of the original 30 have been dropped.

Right, I've cracked it! These things can be like a puzzle...just one piece can make the difference. I was struggling with the sequence from Only Your Love to Steamy Windows and Blaze Of Glory, which I knew had to be the final track of the side. Go West's King of Wishful Thinking just wasn't right, but then I remembered Billy Idol had a couple of hits in spring/summer 1990. Cradle Of Love fitted the best, and goes perfectly into the Tina song. Job done!
That means CD2/Side 3 kicks off with Kylie, as I originally wanted it to, ends with Blaze of Glory which sets the scene perfectly for what follows on the second half of CD2/Side 4....The Only One I Know, One Love etc.
COMPACT DISC 2 BETTER THE DEVIL YOU KNOW KYLIE MINOGUE HEART LIKE A WHEEL THE HUMAN LEAGUE VIOLENCE OF SUMMER (LOVE'S TAKING OVER) DURAN DURAN ONLY YOUR LOVE BANANARAMA CRADLE OF LOVE BILLY IDOL STEAMY WINDOWS TINA TURNER BLAZE OF GLORY JON BON JOVI THE ONLY ONE I KNOW THE CHARLATANS ONE LOVE THE STONE ROSES PICTURES OF YOU THE CURE KISS THIS THING GOODBYE DEL AMITRI STAY WITH ME HEARTACHE WET WET WET CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' RIVER CITY PEOPLE EVERY BEAT OF THE HEART THE RAILWAY CHILDREN THE GREAT SONG OF INDIFFERENCE BOB GELDOF

That's a brilliant second disc too. Heart Like A Wheel and Violence Of Summer work very well.
The only thing I'd point out is the Railway Children track was used on Now 19. It had a more successful chart run in early '91.

It just made that last side flow perfectly, but I must have overlooked its NOW19 appearance during all my checks!

So that's 1990 taken care of. Did 1991 only have the two volumes as well?
